IGT has partnered with Green Bear Gaming Development to take its PlaySports QuickBet sports betting kiosks live in Ohio.
Following Ohio’s sports betting market launch on Jan 1, IGT has ensured a significant retail presence in the state via UBetOhio, a GBGD brand that holds a Type C sports gaming license.
UBetOhio is a Type C provider that deploys sports betting kiosks in bars, restaurants and other retail locations across Ohio.
“UBetOhio is excited to partner with IGT PlaySports to deploy award-winning technology and convenient betting solutions to the many sports fans throughout the state,” said Andy Westmeyer, UBetOhio CEO and COO.
“IGT PlaySports is the leading sports betting provider in the US, and its experience in delivering world-class technology enables us to offer restaurants and bars added excitement for patrons while they are watching their favorite Ohio sports teams.”
The IGT PlaySports QuickBet kiosk offers a ‘simple and intuitive’ interface, with a betting menu that allows payers to place bets on an array of sports in bars and restaurants.
Furthermore, in the coming months the company expects to roll out its PlaySports Pads, a tablet-based solution that can tether into surfaces like bars or tables so players can place bets directly where they are sitting within a venue.
Ohio’s sports betting market places a large emphasis on retail, with sports betting kiosks readily available in thousands of venues, including grocery stores.
“As a Type C Sports Gaming provider, UBetOhio is able to offer betting on popular sports via IGT’s sophisticated technology in social settings where fans are already watching games on TV,” added Joe Asher, IGT President of Sports Betting.
“IGT’s PlaySports QuickBet Kiosk is our most widely used self-service sports betting technology in the US and will allow UBetOhio to deliver a fun betting experience to players in a compact footprint.”
