PENN Entertainment has been awarded a Champions of Board Diversity honor by The Forum of Executive Women for having a board of directors composed of at least 30% women.

35 of the top 100 public companies in the Philadelphia region were honored, which is the highest number of recipients The Forum has recognized since the inception of the award in 2017. It also represents an addition of eight new companies over the prior year.

“We’re proud to be recognized as a Champion of Board Diversity by The Forum of Executive Women in the greater Philadelphia region,” commented Eric Schippers, SVP of Public Affairs, PENN Entertainment.

“Our board is comprised of outstanding individuals whose broad and diverse viewpoints contribute greatly to our company’s success.

“Penn is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce across our organization. We continue to develop initiatives such as our Women Leading at Penn program, which is designed to inspire and encourage women to pursue leadership roles and to have female executives champion growth and development across our property, corporate and interactive levels.”

PENN will be honored among the rest of the Champions of Board Diversity honorees on October 26 at The Forum of Executive Women’s Leadership Breakfast, which will celebrate and showcase women’s leadership.

In collaboration with PwC, The Forum will also unveil the Women in Leadership 2022 Report, an in-depth examination of how Philadelphia companies support the advancement of women leaders in corporate boardrooms and executive suites.

Katherine Kelton, President of The Forum of Executive Women, stated: “Each year our list of Champions grows, which is really encouraging to see. An intentional focus on board diversity reflects the prioritization of good governance – so this milestone is not just good for women, but good for these companies and for our region.

“While there is still a tremendous opportunity to diversify boards by gender, as well as by race and ethnicity, The Forum celebrates this great progress, and we are looking forward to recognizing these 35 companies at our upcoming Leadership Breakfast.”
