FanDuel Group and IGT are taking steps, big and small, to evolve the player experience and bring even more choice and convenience to sports fans. A recent example of this commitment is FanDuel Sportsbooks’ world debut of the IGT PlaySports Pad at the Live! casino in Maryland.

The IGT PlaySports Pad is a tethered tablet that sportsbook guests can use to place bets. The pads offer a cost and space-effective option for expanding on-premise sports betting.

“FanDuel Sportsbook guests instantly embraced the IGT PlaySports Pads. The devices are intuitive and convenient and will help us deliver the best possible guest experience by reducing potential congestion and wait times at betting windows and kiosks,” said Garreth Core, FanDuel Sportsbook, Senior Director of Product and Operations.

To wager on a PlaySports Pad, a guest loads funds at a betting window to a QR-coded paper voucher. That voucher can then be scanned by a PlaySports Pad, instantly loading the funds and making them available for sports wagering. Just like with a TITO ticket on a slot machine, any winnings from a bet are loaded back to the voucher and are instantly available for future betting. At the conclusion of a play session, a sports bettor would simply cash out and collect winnings at a betting window.

“It’s exciting to see the PlaySports Pad delivering such value to FanDuel Sportsbook and its customers,” said Joe Asher, IGT President of Sports Betting. “Creating enjoyable, hassle-free sportsbook environments with self-service betting technologies is critical for maximizing profitability and player satisfaction.”

“Players love the experience on the pad, especially with in-play betting. Wins instantly reload to the players’ vouchers, giving them the opportunity to quickly place their next bet without having to miss a minute of a game or get up and cash out,” added Core.

IGT’s PlaySports Pad is just one of several self-service betting options offered by the B2B supplier. More than 800 PlaySports Kiosks are deployed at sportsbooks in North America and the Company has plans to launch the CrystalFlex Terminal and PeakBarTop with Sports Betting in the near future – both compelling solutions that give players the option to place sports bets and enjoy casino games on the same hardware.

2022 marks the fifth year of the FanDuel-IGT retail sports betting partnership, an arrangement that kicked off in 2018 at the New Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment venue in New Jersey. Since then, the two sports betting giants have expanded into many new jurisdictions across the U.S. and into Canada and established leading positions in the B2C and B2B spaces respectively. The most recent jurisdiction to welcome an IGT PlaySports-powered FanDuel Sportsbook was Kansas, only narrowly preceded by Washington DC.
