The Kansas Lottery has announced the six sportsbooks that have been approved to go live with their operations when sports wagering soft launches in the state later this week on September 1.

Earlier this month, Governor Laura Kelly declared that sports betting in the Sunflower State will start with a soft launch at noon this Thursday, with the full launch taking place on September 8, in time for the new NFL season.

According to Kansas’ Senate Bill 84, each state-operated casino can offer retail and mobile sports betting on up to three platforms or applications.

The Kansas Lottery has stated on its website that four of the state’s casinos – Hollywood Casino at the Kansas Speedway, Kansas Star Casino, Boot Hill Casino & Resort, Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel – have partnered with the following sportsbooks:

  • Hollywood Casino in Kansas City – retail and mobile sports betting with Barstool Sports
  • Kansas Star Casino – retail and mobile sports betting with FanDuel
  • Boot Hill Casino and Resort – mobile sports betting through DraftKings, retail sports wagering date to be announced.
  • Kansas Crossing Casino – mobile sports betting through BetMGM, Caesars, and PointsBet, in-person sports betting date to be announced.

Commenting on its sportsbook partnership with Kansas Crossing Casino, PointsBet Group CEO and Managing Director, Sam Swanell, said: “We are excited to be launching on the starting line and having our outstanding sportsbook product available to the people of Kansas from day one.

“With NFL season kicking off on September 9 the timing is perfect to showcase our NFL in-play betting capabilities in particular.”

Last week, Catena Media stated it was ‘finalizing preparations’ to launch its sports betting affiliate operations in the Sunflower State.
