Hard Rock Sportsbook is set to enter the sports betting market in Ohio, and is already offering players up to $500 in bonus bets if they register early for the app.
Titled #FOMOPROMOH, the promotion offers users $500 if they download and register for the sportsbook before August 1 and will decrease as the Ohio launch date gets closer.
Ohio legalized sports betting earlier this year and lawmakers announced a launch date of January 1, 2023 despite hopes that operators could accept wagers in time for the new NFL season in September.
The launch date coincides with NFL games of the Cleveland Browns at Washington Commanders on January 1, and the Buffalo Bills at the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2, as well as the 2023 Rose Bowl and the CFB National Championship game offering Ohio players ample opportunities to wager on their favorite sports teams.
Building up early anticipation, Hard Rock is offering a bet bonus to those users who do choose to set up an account early and have encouraged users to ‘register ASAP to claim the biggest bonus bet’.
Announcing the scheme, Hard Rock Sportsbook stated: “The earlier you sign up, the bigger the bonus bet you will receive – starting at $500 for those that register by August 1. That bonus will decrease the closer we get to Ohio’s launch date, so future sports bettors are encouraged to register ASAP to claim the biggest bonus bet.
“Bettors must also make a qualifying bet within two weeks of launch to take advantage of this promotion.”
