FanDuel CEO Amy Howe has stated in a recent interview that she and her executive team don’t want the sports betting brand ‘associated with college campuses’.

Last week, Howe spoke to The Wall Street Journal about how she and FanDuel want to help the US sports betting industry thrive.

While some operators like DraftKings, Caesars Entertainment, and PointsBet have decided to secure partnerships with college athletic programs, the FanDuel CEO remarked that such deals won’t be happening for the sportsbook brand anytime soon.

Howe declared during her interview with the WSJ: “We don’t want the FanDuel brand associated with college campuses.”

Alongside college sports partnerships, FanDuel is also looking to be more socially responsible in its promotional advertising, as Howe noted that the sportsbook is re-evaluating its usage of the ‘risk-free’ bet term.

She stated: “I certainly feel a huge sense of obligation.”

Howe will be discussing the current state of play and her vision for the future of mobile gaming during a special keynote session at July’s SBC Summit North America 2022 conference and tradeshow.
