Coolbet, part of the Vincent Group that was acquired by GAN in 2021, has joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).
The operator’s IBIA membership follows its recent approval by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) to offer online gambling services in the Canadian province.
“We are very pleased to be part of the IBIA,” commented Endre Nesset, Senior Vice President of Global Sports at GAN Limited.
“There is strength in numbers and power in unity, and together with the rest of IBIA’s members we are in a great position to help maintain integrity and stop foul play in our industry.”
Alongside Ontario, Coolbet also holds operating licenses in Malta, Sweden, and Estonia.
Last month, the IBIA declared it had reported 42 cases of suspicious betting to the relevant authorities during the first quarter of 2022, with only five of those alerts coming from the Americas.
Q1’s figures were a 39% drop in alerts when compared to the previous quarter (Q4 2021: 69 alerts) and a similar decrease year-over-year (Q1 2021: 64 alerts).
