Genius Sports Limited has obtained regulatory approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), meaning it can supply its data, technology, and broadcast services to the Ontario igaming market.

As a registered Gaming-Related Supplier, Genius Sports is allowed to provide its official data, sportsbook technology, media, and trading services – which include its premium CFL, CPL, AHL, and NFL products and services – to operator partners in the Canadian province.

“I am delighted that Genius Sports has become one of the first sportsbook providers to win approval from the AGCO,” commented Mark Locke, CEO and Co-Founder of Genius Sports.

“This approval underscores Genius Sports’ exemplary track record in compliance, and we are excited to be in a position to deliver our market-leading sportsbook data and technology to our customers in Ontario from day one.”

Back in March, Genius Sports signed an exclusive streaming distribution partnership with AI-Automated video and analytics solutions provider Pixellot.

Under the terms of the agreement, Genius Sports will distribute Pixellot’s camera systems to leagues and federations across more than 100 competitions worldwide to offer TV-quality broadcasts and clipped highlights, automating the production, streaming, and distribution process.

Genius Sports also recently announced its fourth quarter and 2021 financial results, where it called 2021 a ‘transformative’ year following a record Q4.
