The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has authorized the Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan and its platform provider, Parx Interactive, to launch online sports betting in the state under the Gun Lake/Parx brand.

The West Michigan-based tribe launched its online sports betting on August 2, and it previously received approval to launch internet casino gaming on April 23.

Henry Williams, MGCB Executive Director, commented: “With Gun Lake Casino now fully authorized, 14 current Michigan operators and their platform providers may offer both internet casino gaming and online sports betting to patrons.

“The associated revenue payments will support responsible gaming, the First Responder Presumed Coverage Fund, K-12 education, and economic development.”

According to data by the MGCB, Michigan’s online sportsbooks accepted $235.1m in wagers during June, down 1% from $237.6m during May. Gross gaming revenue at online sportsbooks rose 28.2% to $24.9m, up from a $19.5m total in the previous month.
