Details of the agenda and speaker line-up for the NCLGS Summer Meeting have been published this week. The event, which takes place at Chicago’s InterContinental Magnificent Mile, July 11 to 13, is scheduled to be the first major US in-person gaming conference in more than a year.
Heading an impressive roster of speakers is Mayor Lori E Lightfoot who is pursuing a nationally prominent agenda for the City of Chicago, overseeing the recently opened opportunity to apply for the sole casino license in the country’s third-largest metropolitan market.
She joins more than 25 experts who will appear before six legislative-chaired committees and two general session panels as well as in two keynote sessions.
Confirmed speakers include Joseph Addabbo Jr, New York State Senator; Neil Bluhm, Co-Founder, Rush Street Gaming; William Bogot, Partner, Fox Rothschild; Matthew Cullen, Senior Vice President iGaming and Sports, Parx Casino; and Becky Harris, Distinguished Fellow in Gaming and Leadership, UNLV International Gaming Institute, former Chair, Nevada Gaming Control Board.
The Committee on Problem Gambling will kick off the NCLGS Summer meeting agenda, which also includes the morning keynote address from Mayor Lightfoot, a luncheon keynote address from Bluhm, and six legislative-chaired committee sessions that will focus on tribal and commercial casinos, sports betting, and lotteries.
An International Masters of Gaming Law Masterclass will focus on the topic: “Distributed Gaming – Legal and Otherwise”, while a general session panel discussion will focus on the topic: “Gaming’s Awkward Stage: How to Regulate a Mature Industry that is Still Emerging?”
