SBC increases investment in US with Nancy Bishop hire

SBC (Sports Betting Community) is continuing its investment in the US market with the appointment of Nancy Bishop as Senior Sales Manager, North America. The addition of Bishop to SBC’s North American operations team further strengthens its presence within a key growing segment in the sports betting landscape.

Following the success of its inaugural Betting on Sports America conference in New Jersey and the SBCAmericas.com news website, SBC is focused on establishing itself as a major information provider in the fast-growing North American sports betting market and Bishop will play a key role in the expansion plan.

Bishop brings more than 20 years of experience in the gaming and event management space. Her background includes stops with betting firms in the consulting and news arena as well as being the head of sales at River CIty Group (RCG). During her time at RCG she played a pivotal role in growing the Global Interactive Gaming Summit and Expo (GIGSE) into the world’s largest event for the e-gaming sector.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nancy to SBC in what is a key role for our North American growth plans. Her background in the event space and the gaming market are crucial for us as we make further inroads into the fast-moving segment.”

Bishop added: “On the heels of the inaugural BOSA I am excited to help grow the event in the years to come. As more states legalize and regulate sports betting, the industry has a strong need for information, insight, and networking opportunities. As the globally recognized leader in sports betting events and content, SBC will play a crucial role in developing the industry in North America.”

Bishop will work alongside Sue Schneider, VP Growth & Strategy, Americas, to develop and promote SBC’s efforts in the North American market and Kevin Smith, Director of Marketing and Communications, North America.

SBC has already announced the launch of Betting on Sports America 2020 which is being held at Meadowlands Exposition Center, New Jersey from 28-30 April. The conference and exhibition will see 2,500 senior executives from operators, regulators, affiliates, suppliers, payment companies and sports organisations gather for a program of insightful panels and high-level networking opportunities. The 2020 line-up will be even more extensive, with 200 industry experts due to share their knowledge and experience.

Furthermore, it will produce the Official Sports Betting Guide to G2E which will give all delegates attending the ‘world’s premier international gaming trade show’ a synopsis of the sports betting content at the event as well as a series of articles looking at the development of sports betting in the US and where it is heading in the future.
