Fintech firm Mazooma has appointed Justin Ferrabee as Chief Executive Officer, effective August 12, 2019. The announcement comes as the company closes out what it described as a record first half to 2019, growing exponentially in support of igaming and sports betting operators and its continuing expansion across the US.
Ferrabee brings with him extensive experience in the payments ecosystem, most recently as Chief Operating Officer for Payments Canada, the organization responsible for Canada’s payment clearing and settlement infrastructure, processes and rules. There he had strategic oversight for many critical operational initiatives and industry modernization activities.
“There’s huge momentum in the industry right now as more and more US states legalize sports betting,” commented Ferrabee. “Mazooma is poised as a front runner in this growing segment, and I’m excited to lead the company at such a pivotal time.”
Mazooma board representative Izabela Wakabayashi added: “With Justin’s payments industry expertise and success in driving growth and innovation, he was the clear choice to propel our company into the future. Now is the right time for a leader like Justin, and we are so pleased to welcome him to our team.”
Ferrabee will be sharing his experience and insight of the fintech sector at the forthcoming Payment Expert Forum, organized by SBC Events, which takes place at London’s Olympia on September 18.
