FanDuel Group has appointed Lainie Cooney to the newly created role of Chief People Officer with responsibility for leading the development and execution of the company’s global people strategy.
She brings more than 25 years of experience designing and executing human resource strategies across geographically dispersed organizations, with a focus on operational excellence, change management, talent acquisition, and performance management.
She most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Blue Apron, the meal-kit delivery service, where she led a nationwide HR team of 60 people across business units and held the functional responsibility for all aspects of the people strategy.
“Lainie brings a passion for our business and a wealth of experience we can benefit from, and I am excited to add her to the senior leadership team,” said CEO Matt King. “As FanDuel continues to grow globally, Lainie’s expertise will be invaluable.”
Cooney earned an MA in Clinical Psychology and Advanced Doctoral Studies at the California School of Professional Psychology. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Six Sigma Black Belt. She will be based in FanDuel’s Los Angeles offices.
