Gaming and Leisure Properties, the real estate investment trust specializing in casino properties, has confirmed the appointment as Matthew Demchyk as Senior Vice President of Investments.

Upon undertaking the new position, Demchyk is to assist the organisation in evaluating strategic opportunities to enhance shareholder value and oversee investor relationship and outreach efforts, under the leadership of Steven Snyder, GLPI’s Senior Vice President of Development and Interim Chief Financial Officer.

“GLPI’s efforts to enhance our standing as the premier owner of regional gaming assets requires a deep bench of talent,” commented Peter Carlino, GLPI’s Chief Executive Officer.

“We are excited to have Matthew, a well known and highly regarded REIT investor, join our senior management team to help build on our legacy of success.”

Demchyk joins GLPI following “15 years of successful capital allocation experience across the REIT sector,” with the most recent nine years at Millennium Partners, where he served as Portfolio Manager of Real Estate Securities.

Prior to joining Millennium, he worked at both Carlson Capital and CenterSquare Investment Management, a leading REIT dedicated asset manager, where he last served as Assistant Portfolio Manager.

Addressing his new role, Demchyk added: “I have always held the GLPI management team in high regard due to their record of innovation and value creation.  I am excited to join this already successful team as we work hard to maximize risk adjusted returns on capital and more proactively engage with the investor community.”
