Gateway Casinos & Entertainment has taken another major step towards the development of its new Delta property with Delta Council voting to approve the proposed $70m premier gaming and entertainment destination following a fourth and final public reading recently.

The company anticipates construction to begin this autumn, following the final approval from the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC). The new, planned property will feature the Cascades brand, which has been successfully established in Langley, Kamloops and Penticton, BC.

Once complete, the Cascades Casino Delta will include a gaming floor complete with three of Gateway’s signature restaurants, live entertainment, a premium hotel, with up to 124 rooms and flexible meeting space, and up to 500 slots and 24 table games.

“I’d like to thank Mayor Jackson and the Delta Council and the dedicated staff for their thoughtful consideration  of this project throughout the approvals process, said Gateway CEO Tony Santo. “The final approval by Delta is a big step forward in delivering the new Cascades Casino Delta. I would also like to thank the Delta community who have participated in the multiple open house sessions, community events and public information sessions to express their support and excitement about the jobs and investment this will bring to Delta.”

The casino will bring up to 700 new jobs/careers and a $70m investment to the local Delta economy during the construction process. Completion of the project is expected in 2020.
