Key suppliers discuss opportunities from repeal of PASPA – VIDEO

March’s Betting on Football conference featured a session on the potential opening of the US market, should the Supreme Court judge PASPA to be unconstitutional as it has been.
Javier Manceñido, VP Sales at OPTIMA, Max Meltzer, Chief Commercial Officer at Kambi, Andrew Cochrane, Chief Commercial Officer at SBTech and David McDowell, CEO of FSB Technology discussed what direction they anticipated the market would go and how the industry’s main suppliers would react.

McDowell described the experience as ‘going really fast but expect it to move really slow’. “This has the potential to be one of the largest regulatory changes in the global market,” he said. “But we also have to be cautious that even though everyone is going to be scrambling to get products for New Jersey and Pennsylvania online as quickly as possible, it’s still going to take time for these legislative bodies to put the laws in place.”

The breakdown of what the PASPA ruling means will be investigated during September’s Betting on Sports Conference, which is being held on 18-20 September 2018. One of the main tracks of the event is dedicated to the US market and where the opportunities will lie.
