The Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA) is collaborating with a major data and technology provider to bolster its efforts to protect consumers across America.
ROGA selected LexisNexis Risk Solutions as a data clearinghouse technology provider following an arduous request for proposal process that evaluated infrastructure and data security protocols. LexisNexis secured its partnership with ROGA behind its decades-long experience in managing sensitive data and providing solutions for a slew of industries.
LexisNexis will assist ROGA in creating and delivering a multi-state self-exclusion list for the association’s membership. The self-exclusion list allows for responsible gaming practices to expand across multiple operators to ensure wagering limits are being upheld.
“We are confident that LexisNexis Risk Solutions’ expertise will be a valuable resource to provide high-quality data security and checks that help the industry better protect players expressing the need to take a break from gaming by facilitating this break more broadly across operators and jurisdictions,” said ROGA Executive Director Dr. Jennifer Shatley. “Through this clearinghouse, when a player self-excludes through a member operator’s online gaming site, that player will be self-excluded across all ROGA member online gaming sites.”
ROGA and LexisNexis will work together to enhance responsible gaming and consumer protections with a ROGA membership that includes DraftKings, FanDuel, Fanatics and PENN. Its members represent roughly 90% of the U.S. online gaming industry by handle.
ROGA’s new certification program
ROGA is leveraging LexisNexis’ expertise in data after recently establishing a new standard in the industry.
Last month, ROGA partnered with the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) to launch a certification program for U.S. operators. The program evaluates staff training and the self-exclusion and player support tools offered by online operators across the country.
ROGA and the RGC launched the certification program after announcing a request for proposal process for its development earlier this year.
