The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) continuesto invest in the development of initiatives to protect players from problem gambling.

The NCPG announced that it will be distributing $192,000 in grants between five organizations to support community-based problem gambling prevention. The council awarded the grants through its Agility Grant program, which provides financial support to nonprofits to develop and provide problem gambling prevention initiatives. The NCPG’s Agility Grant program, launched in 2022, is funded by the NFL Foundation and FanDuel.

“The NFL is proud to continue supporting the NCPG and the Agility Grants program, which provides critical funding to organizations leading innovative efforts aimed at preventing problem gambling,” said NFL SVP of Social Responsibility Anna Isaacson. “We are pleased to see both new and returning grantees advancing creative approaches to education and early intervention, particularly for youth and young adults.”

The organizations that received the NCPG’s latest round of Agility Grants were awarded funding following an application process that sought information on strategic priorities.

The NCPG provided financial support in its latest funding round to Artreach, Inc., which will use the proceeds to deliver live performances to raise awareness of problem gambling. Artreach is a partner of Connecticut State Community College.

Lao Assistance Center of Minnesota received financial support from the NCPG and will use the funding to bolster its community education program with new training sessions.

The NICOS Chinese Health Coalition has received its second Agility Grant from the NCPG to expand its youth gambling prevention initiative for students in San Francisco.

Ohio State’s Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery program received a grant from the NCPG to provide problem gambling training for campus leaders. The program will also use its grant to spearhead a national campaign.

The University of Nebraska is also being supported by the NGPG. The school received funding to expand the reach of its campus-based problem gambling prevention initiative.

Last year, the NCPG helped Nebraska launch a problem gambling pilot problem.

NCPG makes a lasting impact

Since 2022, the NCPG has completed seven funding rounds through its Agility Grant program, the only national initiative exclusively crafted to provide funding for problem gambling prevention. The program has provided funding to organizations in 21 states.

Between 2022 and 2024, the NCPG awarded more than $1 million in Agility Grants. The council will open the application process for its Fall 2025 Agility Grant round in July.
