Online gaming hosting provider Internet Vikings is helping to power Plannatech’s expansion into sports betting in Arizona.

The company will provide its VMware cloud hosting solutions to UK-based Plannatech, which is largely a B2B sportsbook firm but is stepping into the B2C space through the BetCris brand in Arizona.

Internet Vikings provides sports betting and iGaming hosting solutions in 25 U.S. states. The company, founded in 2008, offers cloud hosting, bare metal servers, and co-location with a premium status proven by its ISO 27001 certification and intensive DDoS protection.

The firms said in a release that Internet Vikings’ structured setup processes, stable hosting environment and technical expertise will help the B2C iGaming and sportsbook operator benefit from a highly secure and reliable infrastructure.

“This is our second state with Internet Vikings, who has been an absolute pleasure working with in providing the solid hosting infrastructure we need as we now expand into Arizona this time as the operator,” said Plannatech CEO Adam Bjorn.

“We value our partnership with Plannatech and extending our VMware cloud hosting solutions to Arizona was the perfect next step as they bring new strategic offerings to the U.S. market,” added Internet Vikings Founder and CEO Rickard Vikström.

Arizona sports landscape changed in 2024

The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADoG) awarded a sports betting license to Plannatech last August. The company took over WynnBet’s license, which is tethered to the San Carlos Apache Tribal Gaming Enterprise.

Plannatech also powers Prime Sportsbook in some other states but opted to go with the BetCris brand in Arizona. BetCris previously shut down operations in the U.S. in 2007 but operates in multiple Latin American markets.

BetCris’ entry into Arizona came after several sportsbooks left the Grand Canyon State in 2024.

SaharaBets closed in its only state of operation in early July after its tethered partner, the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, relocated to Utah. Super Group‘s Betway shut down sports betting in nine states including Arizona in order to focus on iGaming, while SuperBook shuttered its platforms outside of Nevada. Others including TwinSpires, Unibet, Fubo Sportsbook and Betfred have also abandoned Arizona.
