Players generate plenty of interest during free agency but it was a coach making headlines today as former New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick announced a new video series in partnership with Underdog Fantasy.
The YouTube show will feature Belichick breaking down NFL film and analyzing games weely throughout the 2024 NFL season.
“This show is going to give fans a comprehensive look at the behind-the-scenes of the National Football League: what it’s like to coach, how to prepare, how to team build, exactly the way I would do it if I was coaching a team,” said Belichick. “I partnered with Underdog because it’s a sports company run by sports people, and they want sports to connect to the fans, and that’s what I want to do. We want to find a connection where we are giving the fans what they’ve asked me for – perspective on decision-making that goes on within an organization and a breakdown of schematics and personnel within the game. Underdog wants to do that, so it’s a great marriage and a great fit.”
The new show will join a growing library of video content under the Underdog banner featuring the likes of Colt McCoy, Jay Gruden and Rasheed Wallace.
Underdog CEO Jeremy Levine took to Twitter to express his excitement about the partnership:
“It’s going to be a serious show for serious fans with the greatest mind in the history of the sport,” said Chief Marketing Officer of Underdog Fantasy Liz Marro. “We’ve been building out our media network – which now has the fifth-largest daily sports show – and this is going to take us to another level. We are talking about the greatest coach in the history of football, maybe any sport, he could have gone anywhere. And he chose to come here to build his signature show because he sees what other smart people see: we are doing something different and better than others. We are just getting started.”
Tim Livingston will serve as executive producer for the show. His other credits include producing Gil’s Arena with Gilbert Arenas for Underdog and hosting the Whistleblower podcast breaking down the Tim Donaghy scandal.
This will be the first NFL season where Underdog will offer both fantasy sports and sports betting. The operator launched in North Carolina as an online sportsbook earlier this year.
