Circa Sportsbook is now live in a fourth state after launching its mobile betting app in Illinois last week. In addition to the online sportsbook launch, the brand also debuted a large new retail venue at Full House Resorts’s The Temporary by American Place in Waukegan.

After launching in Nevada, Colorado, and Iowa, the brand is now live in Illinois as well. Later this week, legendary Chicago Bear Brian Urlacher will properly kick off the new venue in an opening ceremony where he will place a bet.

“The debut of Circa Sports Illinois is a tremendous moment for our company, and we are thrilled to have worked with this great state and Full House Resorts to bring the expansion to life,” said Circa Resorts CEO Derek Stevens. “There’s nothing like a Midwest sports fan and we know our product matches up with what they are looking for in a betting experience.”

Circa has developed a reputation for being a sportsbook that caters to the serious bettor. Accordingly, the app in Illinois is bringing something interesting to the table in that it posts the maximum betting limits for wagers within the app.

Sharper bettors have often complained about how the major sportsbooks are not clear in how much action they are willing to take and it can vary from bettor to bettor. Circa posting limits could be something more widespread in the future, as some regulators have contemplated rules requiring books to post not just minimum but also maximum wagers on bets.

The retail sportsbook is currently set up at The Temporary by American Place facility. It is equipped with 36 large TVs as well as a digital odds board. A large sportsbook similar to Circa’s set up in Las Vegas is planned for the permanent facility, which is set to open in 2025.

“We are thrilled for Circa Sports to launch their best-in-class sportsbook in Illinois in partnership with our American Place Casino. The premium sportsbook gives new and existing casino customers throughout Chicagoland one more reason to visit and frequent American Place,” said Chief Development Officer for Full House Resorts Alex Stolyar.
