Betting on Sports America delegates get free Sports Betting Masterclass

Delegates at Betting on Sports America now have access to a Sports Betting Masterclass worth $1,000 as part of their event ticket.

Held at Jay Z’s prestigious 40/40 Club in Manhattan, SBC will be hosting a Masterclass from 3pm to 6pm on Tuesday 23 April run by Jonathan Smith, the founder of Sportsbook Training Services, with input from Anthony Gray (Senior Odds Compiler at Redzone). The Masterclass will include refreshments and is conveniently held directly before the Tuesday evening networking party at the same venue.

The Masterclass has been designed to provide an overview on sports trading which will be useful for both newcomers to the betting industry, those curious to know more and even those already working in odds compilation/risk management roles.

It will also provide an insight into operating live betting models and the skills required to successfully manage B2B services, particularly given the recent spread of innovative sportsbook features.

The first part will be about the processes, practice and delivery of the sports betting product.  Delegates will gain a clearer understanding of how and why prices are created and consumed, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of third party operators, and a breakdown of the ‘must-have’ innovations for a 2019 sportsbook.

Meanwhile, the second part will take the form of an entertaining pricing tutorial, where delegates will be set various pricing questions from a number of sports to give them an idea of how we can create robust probabilities from apparently random events.

As someone who has spent more than 25 years in the sports betting industry, Smith is already well-known to SBC Events, having participated in several conferences since first chairing a discussion on trading places, data and patterns at Betting on Football 2016.

Having worked as a senior odds compiler and market maker for a number of high profile fixed odds and spread betting firms, Smith’s Sportsbook Training Services clients now include the likes of SBTech, Sky Bet, Stoiximan, Kambi and Danske Spil.

“While it is clear that technology has brought many changes and associated benefits to betting, specifically through development on the sportsbook side, it is now even more vital that everyone involved with its delivery is well-informed about the product,” he said.

“The Sports Betting Masterclass is, without a doubt, the perfect way to bring Betting on Sports America delegates up to speed on pricing in an interactive setting.”

Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO at SBC, added: “If you want to understand more about modern-day odds compiling, particularly to reflect the growth of in-play betting and the introduction of new features such as Bet Builders and Cash Out, you’ll want to reserve your space for the Sports Betting Masterclass at Betting on Sports America.”

This Masterclass is free to attend for all Betting on Sports America conference delegates and will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Delegates interested in attending should RSVP by clicking on this link.

The session will also be available as a Webinar and access can be purchased by visiting the Webinar page.
