Augmented identity solutions provider Idemia has been selected to provide the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) with its next generation Elite lottery terminals in Canada. Replete with new technology the terminals, said the firm, will enable OLG to enhance its relationship with players and improve the customer experience.
The Elite terminal offers speed and ease of processing documents (eg play slips, receipts, instant tickets, etc) for retailers; as well as new opportunities for designing innovative play slips for special events. The firm will work with OLG over the next 18 to 24 months to rollout 10,700 new terminals and associated ticket checkers in retail locations.
Idemia is also collaborating with Rogers Communication Canada as the telecommunications network services provider, with NCR Canada Corp providing lottery terminal support and maintenance, alongside FDJ Gaming Solutions – its long-term partner, for the delivery of the terminal middleware and associated remote management tools.
Philippe Larcher, deputy general manager for citizen identity & public security, said: “Idemia is proud to work once again with Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and provide them with the next generation of camera-based lottery terminals. Idemia has a worldwide experience and the ability to implement, integrate, and maintain leading edge solutions in the lottery and gaming industry. To date, more than 60,000 units of Elite terminals have been sold worldwide, showing strong success for this ground-breaking technology.”
Greg McKenzie, OLG’s COO, commented: “Replacing and updating lottery terminals will help improve the way OLG connects with customers in a responsible way. It’s part of OLG’s plan to ensure our technology is responsive to changing market expectations. New terminals will allow OLG to add more products and provide a better retail experience for customers, while delivering enhanced features for retailers.”
