FanDuel strengthens stance on offshore betting promotions

FanDuel Sportsbook has issued an email to its commercial partners urging them to ensure they don’t promote offshore or unlicensed sports betting sites.

Since the repealing of PASPA, FanDuel has rapidly pursued a strengthened footprint in the US market, forming what seems to be a strong partnership with UK bookmaker Paddy Power Betfair and launching informative gambling TV shows

The email that was sent to FanDuel partners outlined: “Please be advised that FanDuel considers the promotion of offshore gambling websites as promotion of illegal activities.

“As such, FanDuel will take steps to monitor your site to ensure it complies with FanDuel’s terms and conditions, and will take appropriate actions including, but not limited to, terminating your participation in the FanDuel Affiliate Program if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions.

“By continuing to participate in the FanDuel Affiliate Program, you represent and warrant that your site does not currently promote any illegal activities, including, but not limited to, offshore gambling.”

Matt King, FanDuel CEO, said the firm would be “investing heavily in content”, with the programmes being added to the company’s TVG and TVG2 cable networks, which are currently devoted to horse racing, as well as to digital channels the company operates.

“There’s a lot of different formats we can distribute through and a lot of different channels,” he added.
