Gambling technology and lottery systems supplier International Game Technology (IGT), has announced a nine and a half year extension to its contract with Louisiana Police.
Working through its IGT Global Solutions Corporation subsidiary, its sees an upgrade of video gaming monitoring systems provided for the Video Gaming Division of the Louisiana State Police’s Department of Public Safety and Corrections (DPS&C) video gaming program.
A valued IGT systems customer for approximately 13 years, the extension sees IGT upgrade the Louisiana DPS&C’s current central system to its INTELLIGEN central system.
Doing so will ensure that the monitoring of around 13,100 video gaming devices, at in excess of 1,700 distributed locations around the state, is carried out.
Renato Ascoli, IGT chief executive officer of North America, commented: “Over the past 13 years, we have established a strong working relationship and foundation with the Louisiana State Police.
“With IGT’s INTELLIGEN central system, the Louisiana State Police will be equipped with more advanced tools to ensure that they continue to properly manage their expansive video gaming network and provide their players with an optimal gaming experience.”
IGT details that its INTELLIGEN system, built on 20 years of experience, “offers stable, secure command and control capability and business intelligence features uniquely tailored to video gaming environments.
“It interoperates with a wide range of video gaming devices using multiple protocols, including the game to system open standard protocol, and has advanced communication abilities.”
