The Canadian Gaming Association is gearing up for the latest edition of its Canadian Gaming Summit, due to take place from June 18 to 20 2018 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls. The theme this year is ‘Technology Holds the Key.

In its event preamble, the association said: “This year’s event will consist of eight, thought-provoking and dynamic educational tracks, grounded by its overall theme, ‘Technology Holds the Key’. From gaming operations, lottery, charitable gaming, legal and regulatory, gaming technology, non-gaming amenities, gaming compliance and special summit presentations, delegates and gaming professionals will be offered exceptional information as to be better prepared to keep pace with our industry’s rapidly evolving technological advancements.”

Also featuring prominently will be an impressive trade show floor which will host several new products and services, a gaming industry and first nations awards program, multiple delegate networking opportunities and much more.

Keynote speakers include Anthony Lacavera, chairman of Gobalive; Paul Lauzon, senior vice president of Ipsos; Paige Schoenfeld, associate vice president of Ipsos; Stowe Shoemaker PhD, Dean of the William F Harrah College of Hospitality.

Lacavera’s session dovetails particularly neatly with the technology theme of the summit as it focuses on the rapidly emerging blockchain technology genre. During his address he will draw on interviews he has conducted for global media outlets, industry leaders and innovators to cut through some of the jargon to identify where the blockchain opportunities lie.
